A woman in her seventies suffered a spontaneous periprosthetic fracture in both femoral It emerged that for the past 14 years, the patient had received osteoporosis prophylaand premolar regions. One year after discontinuation of alendronic acid, a bite opening diaphyses, five years and 1.5 years respectively after arthroplasty for hip joint arthrosis. Prior to the fractures she had experienced thigh pain for several months. An x-ray examination provided no evidence of direct causes related to the prostheses. There was a dislocated fracture on the right side and an incomplete fracture on the left side, both with features resembling stress fracture.
